How to create dynamic and personalized event experiences

Typeform is a fantastic tool for running your events–whether they're online, IRL, small or large. Get people signed up for your event, onboard them, run awards, and finally collect feedback and stories that will make your event even better next time.

Lots of our customers use us for event planning. This guide will take you through how to do that, based on the best examples we've seen.

We're breaking this down into four parts. Here's a brief overview of each one. Then, follow the links and dive into how to build out each part.

Event Registration

Getting sign-ups for your event is easy with Typeform. Create a branded form, and then embed it on your event landing page, share it via social media, and send it to your CRM contacts in an email. Track your sign up channels with UTM tracking.

1. Here's how to build an event registration form. In addition, using your Brand Kit, you can now add your own Custom Fonts to your form.

2. Add Data enrichment to your email or Contact question (available on our Growth plans). This will allow you to better segment your signups.

2. Once you've built your form, integrate it with your CRM, so your leads go right where you need them.

Here's how to do that with:

Klaviyo
MailChimp
HubSpot
Salesforce

3. Once you've got your integration set up, it's time to share it.

Track which of your channels are working best - getting the right kind of sign-ups - by setting up UTM tracking.

Here's how to embed it on your website.

Here's how to share it via email.

You can also share the link to your form through any channel.

Now that your signs-ups are rolling in, it's time for part two:

Onboarding

Zapier and the Inbound event created fantastic agenda builders for attendees using our outcome quiz. Instead of asking people to choose which sessions to join, these onboarding quizzes ask you things like what you do or what you want to learn. Then, they give you a ready-made agenda for the event, based on your needs. Here's how to do something similar.

1. Follow this guide to building an outcome quiz for event agendas

2. Once you've built your quiz, you need to share it with your sign-ups. Using the contacts you collected with your registration form, you can now email them with your agenda builder. Here's how to set that up in most CRM tools.

Awards

What's an event without some celebratory awards? A Typeform is a fantastic way to collect nominations for your awards, as you can collect links, files, video, and written feedback easily. SaaStock created an effective nominations form, and of course, we use Typeform for our own Typeforum awards too!

Here's how to build a form to run awards.

Feedback

Superside runs great event feedback campaigns for virtual events that have thousands of attendees. Their form uses simple logic to keep feedback questions relevant.

They ask if you attended a session, and if not, you can skip leaving feedback on that! This way, attendees only give feedback on event sessions that they’ve attended. They also pipe these answers into Hubspot so their sales team can follow up on promising leads.

With our Video Answers feature, you can also use a feedback form to collect dynamic customer stories. Add a video answer to your feedback form so your attendees can share their stories and feedback with you. You can then use these to create excitement for your next event.

You can also use our AI insights to get quick sentiment analysis of your feedback.
